Time to think about the Fall Experience Cobourg contest

The Town of Cobourg’s Community Services Division is pleased to announce the tremendous response received for the Seasonal Photography Contest which launched on Friday, July 24, 2020.

Photographers of all skill levels were invited to share their unpublished, original work for the Summer Seasonal Contest, which closed on Monday, September 7, 2020. A community panel of jurors and Town staff reviewed 62 submissions to determine the winner for each category, including: Distinctly Local, Health and Fitness and #InThisTogether.

“We are truly blown away by the tremendous talent of our local photographers,” says Adam Bureau, Coordinator of Arts, Culture and Tourism. “This year has been a difficult year for many of us, and we are very happy to see that so many people got outside, explored their community and participated in this virtual community event.”

The winners of the Summer Seasonal Photography Contest for the different categories are:

1. Distinctly Local: Marc Venema

2. Health and Fitness: Taryn Ovens

3. #InThisTogether: Luca De Ciccio

In support of our local businesses, each winner will receive a gift card, valued at $200, to any local business of their choosing. Photographs will be on display at the Cobourg Community Centre and shared on Experience Cobourg and the Town of Cobourg social media pages.

“There is no better way to see Cobourg than through the eyes of those who live and and love it here,” says Kara Euale, Manager of Marketing and Event. “It is our hope that with the images we receive through the Seasonal Photography contest that we may create future marketing materials for Cobourg, such as the Leisure Guide and Experience Cobourg tourism guide, that are made up of user-generated photos. This will be an opportunity to further profile our talented photographers as well as a fun way to share Cobourg’s unique story.”
