One person airlifted to Toronto hospital

Thursday, December 19, 2019, shortly after 8:00 pm officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Northumberland EMS and the Hamilton Township Fire Department responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on County Road 2 between Apple Orchard Road and Lovshin Road just west of the town of Cobourg.

The collision involved a white Chrysler passenger van that was travelling westbound and a black Chevrolet SUV that was travelling eastbound.

Both drivers were transported to a local area hospital to be treated for injuries. The driver of the passenger van was later airlifted to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.

County Road 2 was closed at time of the press release, but CBNow does not know if that is the case at the time of this posting.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
