Making connections locally in the manufacturing industry

Northumberland Manufacturers’ Association (NMA) is pleased to announce its newest offering to association members—a Web-based job posting board that connects employers in the manufacturing industry to prospective job seekers. The new job board can be found on the NMA website, www.thenma.ca.

“Our association is a connector in the manufacturing community, a place to network, and a place that provides tools to overcome the many challenges,” says Fred Kosseim, NMA President. “We’ve heard time and time again, of members’ workforce skills gap and the need to grow and build their workforce, launching an online job board for our members —and in our geographic region—is a natural extension of what we do best,” says a news release published by the organization.

NMA’s job board distinguishes itself from generalist job boards in a number of ways.

A highly targeted focus on employment opportunities in a certain sector, location, or demographic;

Access to industry-specific jobs—often not seen on Monster, CareerBuilder, or HotJobs.

The ability to specifically target the right job seekers through partnerships at the NMA – for example: Colleges & Universities employment centres, funding associations, and government and economic development departments.

“Niche job boards, like the NMA job board, are an ideal way to recruit top candidates,” says Miranda Patrick, NMA Board of Director. “Our customized job board also attracts new members—both individuals and businesses—to associations such as NMA. That helps drive participation in conferences, workplace development workshops, award programs, and other exclusive benefits.”

To visit the job board, go to the NMA website at www.thenma.ca, and click on Jobs, once there you can immediately post a job opening or view current opportunities available.

About the NMA

The Northumberland Manufacturers’ Association (NMA) actively represents manufacturers in Northumberland County. The purpose of the NMA is to promote continuous improvement, innovation, high performance and productivity enhancements through collaboration, education and advocacy.

The NMA strives to deliver value-added programs such as workshops, Strategic Focus Groups and a Member Benefits Program. The NMA leads an annual Regional Manufacturing Conference on behalf of Tri-Association partners, Quinte and Kawartha manufacturers. The historically sold out annual October conference provides high quality, valuable training and timely information locally, negating the need for travel to larger city centres.
